December 13, 1940 - August 27, 2017
Born December 13, 1940, William (Bill) Lester Henson passed away suddenly August 27, 2017, surrounded by his wife, Beverly, and children, Charles, Sandra, Claudia, and Robert.
Bill spent his childhood and entire adult life in the Rogue Valley. After leaving the Army (1965-1968), where he was a master gunman, he was employed by local fruit production companies, first at Pinnacle Packing and then at Harry & David where he worked for many years as the foreman of Oregon Orchards. A respected boss and co-worker, Bill retired in 2002.
After retirement, Bill enjoyed gardening; taking care of his dogs, Sassy and Scooter; and staying on top of current events. He enjoyed watching the news, history programs, and westerns on TV. He was always there for his kids, and died one-month shy of his 50th wedding anniversary. His family was deeply saddened by his death. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Claude; his mother, Edith; and his sister, Donna. Bill is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan, James, Lillian, and Andrew. He will be sorely missed.
