Warren Lee Holbrook

1924 - 2008



Warren Holbrook, 84, of Central Point, Ore., passed away on Wednesday, July, 23, 2008, at Providence Hospital.



He was born in Medford, Ore., to Leland J. and Ethel Eads Holbrook on May 2, 1924. He graduated from Medford High School in the class of 1942. In November, 1942, he joined the Air Force, serving as a staff sergeant bombardier on a B-17 stationed in England, until his discharge in October, 1945, at Randolph Field in Texas.



He married his high school sweetheart, Jacquelynn McBee, on Sept. 15, 1945, in Harlingen, Texas. Warren continued his education at the University of Oregon, and received his BA in education in 1951, and a master's degree in 1956. He was hired as a teacher on the original staff of Crater High School, to teach art, crafts and geography. Warren retired from Crater High School in 1985, finishing his teaching career in counseling and administration.



Warren served on the Central Point city council for six years, and on the Central Point planning commission for two years. He was a member of the Central Point Lions Club.



He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Central Point, Ore.; daughter, Nancy of Klamath Falls, Ore.; son, Ron of Central Point, Ore.; — grandchildren; and — great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Delores Herndon, of Santa Rosa, Calif.



As per his wishes, a private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Warren touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
