Vivian was born on August 29, 1925, in Wichita, Kans., to Matthew and Virginia Fox. She entered the convent of Sisters of St. Joseph, in Wichita, Kans., at age 15 and continued to serve her Lord for 35 years.
During those years, she completed college at College of Emporia, Kans., and continued her education quest to obtain two Master's Degrees from Notre Dame University in journalism and English/ library science. She taught elementary and high school and was head librarian in various schools in Kans. During her teaching years, she touched the lives of many of her pupils, evident by the many letters of correspondence she received after leaving their schools.
In 1977, she married Thaine R. High, of Topeka, Kans., and after they traveled the U.S.A. in their motorhome. They then settled in Oceanside, Calif. They made their home there until their health necessitated a move to Medford, Ore., to be closer to family, in 2006. They chose Avemere at Waterford Retirement Center and enjoyed the many activities, memorable excursions, and time with their family.
Vivian continued to honor her Lord by attending Mass every morning until her health altered that activity. She moved to A Touch of Grace Foster Home in March 2009, due to her Alzheimer's. Vivian was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed computer work, community activities and traveling. Her thirst for knowledge was almost insatiable. She was a warm and loving wife to Thaine.
