Virginia "Ginny" Rae Fowler

Virginia "Ginny" Rae Fowler, passed away August 27, 2007, at her home near Talent, where she resided for the past 55 years, with her family at her side. She was born in Lakeview, Ore., on June 15, 1928, and moved to Litchfield, Ariz., at an early age and graduated from Litchfield High School, in 1946. Afterwards she trained to become a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. After finishing, she moved to Ashland to work for Ashland Community Hospital for a short time. Then she worked for several Ashland doctors (Dr. Haynes, Dr. Bradshaw, and Dr. Woods). She met Lowell E. Fowler during this time, and the couple married after a short courtship on her 21st birthday in Ashland, Ore.

Our mother is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lowell; three children, Dan (Debbi) Fowler, of Phoenix, Ariz., Marilyn (Craig) McKern, of Eugene, Ore., and Polly (George) Farrimond, of Talent, Ore.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Ginny is also survived by a sister, Norma Gumser, of Lakeview, Ore. Preceding Ginny in death is her father, Morris Mareen Bradley, of Phoenix, Ariz., and mother, Rita Odell Bradley, of Lakeview, Ore. Our mother is remembered for her devotion to our father, children, and grandchildren, and she made the best meals at family gatherings and during the holidays. Mom had an infectious smile and always a kind word for her grandchildren. She will be cherished and missed forever.

There will be a celebration of Ginny's life on September 1st, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 111 Clay Street in Ashland, Ore. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Red Cross, where Ginny was a dedicated volunteer for many years.
