Sybil Mary Wilson

Sybil passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 22, 2010. She was born in Artesia, N.M. on March 28, 1920, and moved to Medford, Ore, in June 1956, fulfilling her dream to live in the Rogue River Valley.

Sybil was a wife, mother and Grammy first and foremost, but she also worked for many years at Harry & David. In the 1970s she joined Bethel Church where her ministry was in the church kitchen. She also served as a greeter until recent years. Her hobbies were knitting, embroidery, gardening and reading, but her biggest joy in life was her relationship with the Lord and her family.

Sybil is survived by her brother, John Burton, of Georgetown, Texas; and her sister, Maude Crawford, of Los Lunas, N.M.; her surviving children are daughters, Mary Ann Brothers and husband, Don, of Palmer, Alask, and Bonnie Lynn Alexander, and husband, Larry, of Myrtle Point, Ore.; son, Robert Paul Wilson, and wife, Christy, of Salem, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Sybil was a devoted wife, mother and Grammy. A celebration of her life will be held at Bethel Church, Medford, at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 28, 2010. Sybil will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery beside her husband, Roy, who preceded her in death on January 13, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Charlie Dessauer Leonard on June 26, 2003.
