Ronald "Ron" Lloyd Winner

July 5, 1942 - June 17, 2018

Ronald "Ron" Lloyd Winner, 75, peacefully passed away June 17, 2018, at his home in Eagle Point. He was born July 5, 1942 in the small town of Tolleson, Arizona.

Ron was the beloved husband and best friend of his one true love, Dian Winner (née Wenaus), whom he married on March 25, 1966; cherished father of Angela Webb (née Winner) and Veronica Winner; son of Floyd Miles Winner and Nancy Winner (née Sory); doting grandfather of Cortney Berg-Flicker, Tori Davis (née Berg), and Ronald "Ronnie" Lawson. Ron was also "Uncle Ronnie" to many treasured nieces and nephews.

Ron moved to his "home" state of Oregon when he was seven years old. Ron served in the Army, where he traveled the world during his time in the service. Ron had a long and varied career. If you asked him what he was, he always said "I'm an Ironworker." During his employment as an ironworker, he helped build many projects in Oregon, including the Jackson County Jail and Applegate Dam. He also worked on numerous smaller projects along the Oregon coast.

Later in life, Ron was very proud of his work for the Southern Oregon Historical Society. His favorite venue with the Historical Society was Hanley Farms, where he participated in many public events.

When not working, Ron was a creative wood artist, and loved nothing more than a day on the lake fishing with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, his daughters, and his three grandchildren.
