Robert Alan Anderson

Robert (Bob) Alan Anderson, 68, of Medford, Ore., passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011, with his loving wife, son's, daughter-in-law's and friends at his side in his home in Medford, Ore. Bob was born October 25, 1942, in Stockton, Calif., to the late Axel and Rhea (Heiselt) Anderson. He served in the Marine Corps from June 1960 to June 1964 as a helicopter mechanic and crew chief and was honorably discharged in June 1964. On September 29, 1964, he met the love of his life, Sharon Parker, and married one and a half months later on November 14, 1964, in Carson City, Nev. In April 1974, they re-married at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Prineville, Ore., when Bob also became Catholic.

Bob was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, was a Past Grand Knight and a Past Faithful Navigator and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford, Ore. He was a Lay reader and Eucharistic Minister for his church. He also volunteered time as a Eucharistic Minister at Providence Hospital in Medford. He was a police officer in Prineville, Ore., and sold life & health insurance and was an L.U.T.C.F.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 47 years, of Medford, Ore.; sons, Duane (Alicia) and Danny (Michelle), all of Bend, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, of Portland, Ore., Michael, Parker, Kellyn, Austin, Beauden, Graysen and Gianna, all of Bend, Ore.; and one niece, Monica Anderson, of Sacramento, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell; sister-in-law, Bonnie Anderson; one nephew, Ronnie Anderson; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The Rosary will be held at Conger-Morris Funeral Home, 767 S. Riverside Ave. Medford, Ore., at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10th & Oakdale in Medford, Ore., Monday, October 31, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall. The Knights of Columbus will have their Honor Guard at the funeral Mass. A presentation of a Chalice will be presented to his wife, Sharon at the Mass. Interment will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., with Military Honor Guards.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus General Assembly No. 0905 or Magdalene Home, both in Medford. We all love you Dad and you will be greatly missed.
