Richard Kervick was born in Worchester, Massachusetts. He graduated with a bachelor degree from the College of Holy Cross, and a master degree from Georgetown University. During WW II he was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Service, then in the Merchant Marine.
In 1951, he married Mary Jane Walpole. They had four children, Andrea Lisa Kervick, Sarah Kervick Mann, Daniel Walpole Kervick, and Mimi Angelique Kervick. When Mary Jane died in 1976, Richard continued raising the family on his own as a single parent.
Richard met Brigitte Cribbins in 1990 and they were married in 1991. He added a step-daughter, Ingrid Dux to the family. In 1997, they moved from Novato, California to Medford, Oregon. He loved his life with his wife Brigitte and was not in a hurry to leave. Even when faced with severe health challenges, starting with polio in the 1950s, his spirit was never dampened. He found the simple pleasures in life fulfilling.
Richard’s memory will be carried on by his family including his sister, Jane Schmit;12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
