Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, RCMC Floyd Kenneth Lawson Jr., retired U.S Navy, passed away July 26, 2013.

Ken was born June 30, 1933 in Medford, Ore. to Floyd Kenneth Lawson and Gladys Lena Beery Lawson who preceded him in death. He attended and graduated from Medford High School in 1951. He entered the U.S. Navy in November 1952 and retired in June 1985. He also retired from the U. S. Postal Service in June 1989 with 29 years.

Ken was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Philippines. He then went to work for the U. S. Postal Service in Medford while he was still serving in the U.S. Naval Reserves.

Ken was involved in several bowling leagues over the years, which his wife Evelyn is still active in. He was also an avid collector of model trains.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Evelyn Lawson, or as he lovingly called her Edie; sister, Patricia (Bob) Sutton, of Woodinville, Wash.; son, Floyd (Bud) K. Lawson III (Jeannie); daughters, Deanna (Bear) Lawson, of Charleston, S.C., Karen (Mike) Magill, of Merced, Calif., and Laurie Alexander, of Roseburg, Ore.; two stepsons, Dwayne (Renee) Fox, of Foster, Ore. and Darrell (Barbara) Fox, of Kodiak, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A military service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, OR. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
