Paul Richard Hayes, 77, loving father and husband, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in the comfort of his own home.
Paul was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in Long Beach, California. He moved to Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley in 1983, where he became involved in real estate development and started his own company, Hayes Management Services. Ever the businessman and entrepreneur, he was also able to pursue his passion for antiques when he opened a small antique shop, Cottage Antiques, in Jacksonville, Oregon.
A high school football star in his younger days, Paul continued to enjoy sports and the outdoors, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and acting as pitching coach for his daughters' little league softball teams. Later, Paul traded in his sports hat for a political one, serving on Jacksonville's City Council from 2010-2014.
Paul will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and deep love and devotion to his family. He will be forever held lovingly in the hearts of his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Catherine and Christina; sons-in-law, Ken and Matt; and granddaughters, Caroline and Clara.
A private celebration of his life will be held by his family.
