Patricia E. Heffernan

Patricia E. Heffernan, born of the marriage of Joseph William McNamara, M.D. and Dorothy Mildred (Spinharney) McNamara on Oct. 21, 1933, passed away at her home in Medford, Ore., on the afternoon of Aug. 23, 2009.

Patricia was born in Omaha, Neb., where she completed high school at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Rosary College (now Dominican University) in River Forest, Ill., during the course of which she completed a year of education abroad in Fribourg, Switzerland.

Patricia was married to Charles Alfred Boiler in Omaha, Neb., on April 23, 1960 and moved to Medford, Ore., in 1964 where she raised her five children, Charles Alfred Boiler, Jr., Mary Elisabeth (Boiler) Harrop, Joseph Michael Boiler, John Patrick Boiler and Patricia Judith (Boiler) King. After the death of Charles Boiler, Sr. in Jan. 1977, Patricia married Robert Heffernan, Jr., also of Medford, on Aug. 25, 1979. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish and supporter of Sacred Heart School and St. Mary's High School. She was a devoted wife and mother raising seven children, two from Charles Boiler's previous marriage. She will be remembered for her easy laughter and bright smile. She was a member of the Medford Colony Club, the Multnomah Club, Rogue Valley Country Club, The Springs Club and Thunderbird Country Club. She enjoyed gardening and participating in various charitable entities.

Patricia was preceded in death by Dr. Jospeh William McNamara, Dorothy Mildred McNamara, Charles Alfred Boiler, Sr. and Joseph Michael Boiler. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Heffernan, Jr.; siblings, Joseph William McNamara, Jr. (Susan), Leo Frederick McNamara (Priscilla), Dorothy Sue McNamara and Kathleen Ann Lyons (James); and her grandchildren, Riley Daniel and Sylvia Ellen King, Christopher Joseph Harrop and Charles Marie and Joseph Patrick Boiler.

A funeral mass will be said for Patricia on Friday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Medford, Ore., followed by a gathering of friends and family at decedents' residence at 772 Mountainview Ave. from 3-5:00 p.m. Arrangements by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
