Morris C. Frantz

Morris C. Frantz passed away on March 18, 2009, at his home in Phoenix, Ore., with his family at his bedside. He was born on August 20, 1924, in Duluth, Minn.



On March 2, 1946, Morris married Darla Ann Beede in Duluth, Minnesota. They moved to Southern California in 1953, where Morris began his career in highway construction. In 1968 they relocated to Medford where Morris continued in the construction industry with Rogue River Paving/ Liningers's until his retirement in 1984.



Morris was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific on the USS Orion, a submarine tender.



During retirement, Morris & Darla Ann enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, spending time at their Fish Lake cabin, and attending family gatherings with their children and grandchildren. Morris also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and camping, volunteered with the Boy Scouts and delivered meals for Food and Friends.



Morris is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darla Ann; daughters, Susan (Don) Culver, Medford, and Sharon (Ron) Williams, Grants Pass; sons, Steve (Mary) Frantz, Eagle Point and Stewart (Patty) Frantz, Medford; grandchildren, Kimberly Bruff, Greg Culver, Kris Kammerzell, Michelle & Justin Frantz, and Jeremy & Jennifer Frantz; great grandsons, Brandon, Logan & Colton Culver, Taylor Hoffman, Jacob Bruff, and Chase Kammerzell; sister, Mavis Rubesh, Duluth, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Morris was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, of Duluth, Minnesota.



Private services will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery on March 27th. The family would like to thank the Ashland Hospice Personnel, especially Doreen and Kirt. Special thanks to Volunteer Dick N., Dr. Travis McNeal and Dr. John Schwartz for their compassion.
