Maxine Reynolds Slawson

Maxine Reynolds Slawson

Maxine Reynolds Slawson was born July 10, 1921, in Boliver, N.Y., and passed away March 19, 2013 at home in Medford, Ore.

Maxine was a devout Christian who gave most of her adult life to church work. She was a missionary for a number of years in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, weathering severe storms, life without running water or electricity, and only sporadic monthly contact with the outside world.

For many years she devoted her life to her church here in Medford. After she was no longer able to attend church on a regular basis, she continued to mentor and minister to many in her home.

Maxine was deeply loved and respected by all for her quiet wisdom, understanding, and compassion for those who had suffered loss. She will be sorely missed.

Maxine is survived by son, David Densmore; granddaughter, Melanie Densmore; two sisters, Arlene Smothers and Alberta Reynolds; step-daughter Barbara Travis; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Maxine was predeceased by husband, Walter Slawson; two brothers, Leeman and Raymond Reynolds; and grandson, David Densmore Jr.

God blessed all whose lives she touched. A memorial service and viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to hospice.
