Maurice Madau passed away at his home in Ashland, Ore. on July 23, 2008. Four days short of his 93rd birthday.
Maury will be remembered by friends as a loving and caring man with a great sense of humor. His lifetime passions were fishing, friendly poker games and golf. His fish stories will continue for generations as will his expert tips on poker. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and was frequently called upon to help with woodworking projects. "Poppo" delighted his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with his magic tricks. Maury documented his favorite lifetime stories, including many of his adventures as a sailor in the US Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Charlotte. He is survived by daughters Claudia, Christyn and Caryn, and his son, Joseph. Along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery on August 5, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics, 1133 19th St, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
