Mary V. McGreevy Schweizer, 92, passed away May 7, 2012. She was born in Ackley, Iowa.
Mary attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. She met her husband in Ackley where her family resided. Thus began the beautiful adventure of their life together. Mary visited Ireland and Saipan. Some of her children have traveled the world. After living twenty years in Ackley, the family moved to Ashland, Ore., in 1960.
After retiring from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, she moved with her husband to the Seattle area, residing on Vashon Island for several years, before moving to a condominium in Issaquah, Wash., at Providence Point. At the time of her death she was residing at Aegis of Bothell, in Bothell, Wash. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Schweizer; and son, David Schweizer. She is survived by sister, Clare McGreevy Hudson; four sons, Jim, Joe, Frank, and John Schweizer; daughter, Sydney Schweizer Sotor; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom's ashes are buried beside her husband, Bruce, at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 Southeast 240th Street Kent, WA 98042.
