Mary passed away peacefully Friday evening at the foster home of Olepa Polataivao, in Medford, Ore., after a long journey with Parkinson's disease and dementia. She met the challenges of her illness with grace and courage. She was happy, smiley and very funny up until just a couple of weeks ago.
Mary lived a full life and will be deeply missed by many. Survivors include daughter, Gayle Vezie (Rick); brothers, Frank and Sam; sister, Angie; grandsons, Brian Jones (Amie) and Dave Johnson (Nyssa); and great-grandsons, Michael and Jordan.
Our family is so grateful to the loving people at Mt. View Retirement, where she began this journey and resided for almost five years. Her next move was to Home of One Heart, and we believe that it also had a purpose, even though it was a short stay.
Through it all, we are the most grateful to Olepa, who was a Divine Gift, especially at a time when Mary needed full assistance. She was in a home where she was loved, provided with excellent care, and where there was laughter. If we would have had all the money in the world, we still would've wanted her to be with Olepa.
Love you, Mom.
