Mary Eleanor Keiser

Mary Eleanor Keiser

October 15, 1929 - July 17, 2018

Mary Eleanor Keiser beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, left this vale of tears for a better place July 17, 2018. Mary was born October 15, 1929 in Reading, Pennsylvania, the only daughter of Kathryn and Leo Fox.

Mary met David on a blind date at Pennsylvania State College, fell instantly in love, and was married June 24, 1950. She dropped everything and followed him to Idaho.

A city girl, Mary adapted to the somewhat nomadic life of a forester which resulted in five wonderful children. Kathy, Mark, Eric, Lauri, and Nancy were each born in a different part of Oregon.

Mary discovered a love of teaching as a ski instructor at Mt. Ashland, went to SOU for a teaching degree, and spent 20 happy years teaching third graders at Wilson Elementary School.

Mary became an expert fly-fisherwoman, deer hunter, tennis player, and ran in the Pear Blossom run back when she was the only woman in the 50 and older class.

Mary spent her last days with wonderful, compassionate care from the beautiful people of Providence Hospice Care and Holmes Park House.

Mary left behind her husband of 68 years, David; children, Kathy (husband, De), Eric (wife, Leslie), Lauri (husband, Tom), and Nancy (husband, J.T.); daughter-in-law, Margaret; grandchildren, Sarah (husband, Sean), Katie (husband, Jay, John (wife, Erika), Walter (wife, Lauren), Lindy (husband, Jared), Megan, Ben, Mary, Mark, Leo, Peter, and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Rudy, Grace, Mae, Eve, Page, Noah, and Lucas.

Her son, Mark preceded her in death.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
