On Saturday March 21, 2009, we lost our beautiful mother, Margaret Genevieve Berriman, 83, of Central Point, Ore.
Margaret was born on Oct. 02, 1925, in Hilda, Mo., to Hiram and Maudie David (Day). She graduated in 1942 from Forsyth High School and was Valedictorian of her class. After high school she attended Springfield Business College.
She married Job (Joe) Berriman on Dec. 12, 1945, in Klamath Falls, Ore. They had two sons, David and George Berriman. Her husband preceded her in death in 1989. Margaret worked as a central office clerk for Pacific Northwest Bell for 38 years, she retired in 1986.
In her freetime she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Margaret was a Salvation Army Chaplain for 10 years and also a Sunday school teacher.
Margaret is survived by her sons, David and George Berriman; grandsons, Michael, Scott, and Nick Berriman; three great-grandchildren and one more on the way; sister, Lucielle Hall, of St. Louis, Mo.; and brothers, Johnnie, Byron, and Ernest David, in Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; sister, Pauline Everly; and brothers, Crawford and Bobby David.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Conger-Morris Medford Chapel, with a graveside committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Major Glenda Berko will officiate. There will be visitation Thursday, March 26, 2009, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Medford.
