Lois Mae Forgie

Lois Mae was born on September 12, 1949, to Kenneth and Anna Harger, both of whom preceded her in death. Even though she was their only child, she had several cousins that filled in the part of brothers and sisters. Lois grew up in Medford, Ore., and graduated from Medford High School, where she sang in the Madrigal Group and was involved in the acapella choir. Music was a big part of Lois's life, God really blessed her with a great voice.

After graduation, she moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. She worked for the local newspaper for a short time. Lois then moved with her husband, Bob Waugh, to Dixonville, Ore., where they adopted their five children, Melanie, Jim, Loretta, Cindy and Robert. Lois made Roseburg, Ore., her final home. There she worked for KQEN Radio, and later for KRNR for her good friend, Faye Johnson. Lois was the office manager and bookkeeper.

In 1985, she gave birth to her son, Kenneth Jon Forgie. In June 1989, Lois married her friend, James Warner Forgie, and they would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary this summer.

After retirement, Lois enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed finding judges for the local talent shows during the summer. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at Taylor's Family Mortuary on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lois Mae Scholarship Fund, c/o James Forgie, 2570 NW Kline St., Apt. 3, Roseburg, OR 97471.
