Lillian 'Nile' Johnson

Nile passed away at the age of 95 years in Redding, California. She was born March 2, 1918 to Johnnie and Ethel Hammers and spent her early life in Sheridan, Mo. On April 10, 1938 she married Gerald Johnson in Sheridan, Mo.

She and her husband, Gerald, moved to Oregon in 1947, eventually moving to Medford in 1957. Nile retired from teaching at Mae Richardson Elementary in 1980 and spent her retirement time gardening, traveling, and visiting family. She was a former member of Rogue Valley Christian Church and First Christian Church. She and Gerald moved to the Redding, Calif. area in 1995 in order to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Zeke Breazeale of Redding, Calif.; grandson, Jesse Breazeale of Fillmore, Calif.; grandson and wife, Dr. Brett and Julie Breazeale of Klamath Falls, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Gina, and Casey Breazeale; nephews, Lowell Ridge, Eugene Ridge, Richard Gabbert, Robert Finch, and Dr. Reggie Finch; and nieces, Eloyce Cossins and Janet Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Johnson; son, Max Johnson; and granddaughter, Christina "Chrissy" Breazeale.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Siskiyou Memorial Park Chapel, Medford. Arrangements by Perl Funeral Home.
