Larry A. Leonard

Larry A. Leonard

March 3, 1936 - April 5, 2017

Larry A. Leonard passed away April 5, 2017 in Medford, Oregon. He was born March 3, 1936 in Sacramento, California.

Larry was an outdoors kind of guy, building roads; logging; grading land; excavating rock; building tennis courts, warehouses, and labor camps; and lately, growing apples. He valued friendships with business owners as well as orchard workers.

He enjoyed time with family, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great–grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is known as Uncle Larry to all of Clover’s side of the family. He cherished his Alaskan and Canadian fishing trips with his sons and grandson. He was a successful, hard-working, generous, quick-witted people-person. He was very proud of his Shasta Indian heritage. His later-in-life chronic illnesses slowed him down, but if he could get on an excavator, he was good to go.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Clover (Branscum); sons, Larry Michael (Kara) of Sacramento and Steve (Nancy) of Medford; sisters, Nancy Leonard (Keith) of Medford and Kathy Cardenas (Kiki) and Trish Leonard, both of Sacramento.

Interment will be at Henley-Hornbrook Cemetery, with a private celebration of life later. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Larry’s favorite non-profit, Spartan Boxing Club, 729 Welch, Medford Ore. 97501.
