In Loving Memory of

William (Bill) John Cales

Bill Cales was born in Charmco, W. Va., on July 18, 1934, to Oather and Myrtle Cales. He was the youngest of five children, with four sisters, Helen Selvey, Velma O'Dell, Mattelea Sheridan and Gertrude Cales.

Bill graduated from Greenbriar High, in Rainelle, W.Va., in 1952. He then entered the U.S. Air Force in July 1952, in Beckly, W.Va., where he was trained as an airplane electronics engineer. It was there he met the love of his life, Jeanne, on the beach in Pensacola, Fla. They soon married in Pascagoula, Miss., and after finishing their tour of duty, they settled into the Rogue Valley.

Bill was a truck driver most of his life for various local companies. He was an active teamster for 33 years. He retired in the early 90's from Willig Trucking. He and his wife enjoyed gardening and snowbirding in their retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Cales, of Talent; son, John Cales, of Central Point; daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Moore, of Eagle Point, Teresa (Daryl) Sell, of Coos Bay; three grandchildren, Jamie Blaylock, of Bend, Jessi Moore, of Medford and Josh Appleberry, of Coos Bay; two great-grandsons, Grayson and Owen Blaylock, of Bend; and sisters, Helen Selvey, of NC., and Mattalea Sheridan, of W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill passed away on January 18, peacefully in his home. Per his request, there will be a private family service at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
