A memorial service will be held at a later date for Idella Williams, 81, of Ashland, who died Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Ashland Community Hospital. She was born July 4, 1927 in McCaulley, Texas the daughter of Lola and Isom Brown. She was raised in Stamford, Texas.
On June 22, 1945 in Miami, Ariz., she married Jack Williams, who survives. They returned to Stamford before moving to Ashland in 1949.
She worked as an Avon Representative for many years as well as working as a sales clerk for Perrine's Department Store in Ashland. She enjoyed reading table games and traveling by RV. She was a member of the Southern Oregon Sam's Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, John (Debbie) Williams, of Medford, Ore., Jerry (Joan) Williams, of Medford, Ore., and Jim (Carol) Williams, of Springfield, Ore.; four brothers, Cyriel Brown, of Silsbee, Texas, Roma Brown of Allison, Texas, Gehrig Brown, of Silsbee, Texas, and I.N. Brown Jr., of Kerbyville, Texas; three sisters, Pandora Burnett of Conroe, Texas, Betsy Thoreson, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Patsy Willingham of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
