Guy Robert Jenkins

Guy Jenkins, 69, of Medford, Ore. passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at home. He was born August 20, 1943, in Cottage Grove, Ore. to parents, Carl R. Jenkins and Grace Hood Jenkins.

Guy was the second of three children. He attended Dayton High School in Dayton, Wash., and graduated in 1961. After high school he served in the U.S. Army for three years, stationed in Rockville, Md. During this time, he met Judith Ann Wilkinson; they were married March 15, 1964. The Lord blessed them with two sons, David and Steven.

While employed by IBM, Guy spend 14 years in Anchorage, Alaska, during which time he attended Alaska Pacific University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational administration. He retired from IBM after 30 years and moved to Medford, Ore. in 1993.

For about 25 years Guy was active in tax preparation and eventually established his own tax business as a licensed tax consultant. He was a member and treasurer of the Medford Garden Railroaders (formerly SOLST) and enjoyed woodworking, creating several bridges and structures for the Medford Railroad Park.

A very special highlight in Guy's life was he and Judy's participation in Family Solutions (formerly SOCSTC), and currently, the DHS Foster Parent Program. They have enjoyed caring for a total of four foster sons over the past 12-13 years.

Guy will be remembered and truly missed by his loving wife, Judy; his son, Steven, of Bothell, Wash., along with his daughter-in-law, Laury; two grandsons, Samuel and Thomas; his sister, Jeanine Keeney and her husband Don, of Springfield, Ore.; his brother, Vern and family, of Port Orchard, Wash.; and his foster son, Preston. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, David, in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service for Guy at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2103, at Harvest Baptist Temple, 2001 S. Columbus Ave., Medford, Ore.

Guy is laid to rest at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene, Ore.
