Gloria N. Neumann, 80, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Monday, November 21, 2011, at her residence of 20 years.
Gloria was born on October 26, 1931, to James Albert Schaublin and Elsie May Armstrong Schaublin, in Oakland, Calif. She married Carl A. Neumann on December 12, 1964, in Carmel, Calif.
Gloria worked as a secretary for the State Compensation Insurance Fraud Division of the State of California for 31 years. She retired in 1987. In 1991, she moved to Central Point, Ore., from Monte Sereno, Calif.
Gloria was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Central Point, Ore., where she was active and served many years in the food pantry for ACCESS that was located there. She also was a volunteer member of the Central Point Police Department.
Gloria's many hobbies and interests included gardening, walking and swimming. She had a great love for animals and was a supporter of the Southern Oregon Humane Society. Anyone that knew Gloria was aware of her love for cats and their welfare.
Gloria is survived by her sisters, May Heiser, of Grants Pass, Ore., and Lillian Key, of Vale, Ore.; many nieces; nephews; grand nieces; and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; daughter, Kimberly Ann Murphy; father, "Al" Schaublin; mother, Elsie Jones; stepfather, Glen Jones; sisters, Beverly Schaublin, Lois Chaffin, and Mildred Barnes; and brothers, Ted Schaublin, Al Schaublin, and Norman Schaublin.
Respecting final wishes, there will be no service.
Gloria will forever be in our hearts and in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
