Gloria 'Jean' Hubbard

Gloria was the daughter of John Litster, originally of Scottland, and Lena Thrift. Her father discovered the vortex in Gold Hill, Ore., called the "House of Mystery." She was born in Portland, Ore., spent most of her life in the Rogue Valley, and moved to Salem, Ore., in 2006.

She loved gardening, was very active in the Girl Scouts in Ashland, Ore., in her community and in her church, Calvary Temple in Central Point, Ore.

She is survived by her children, John Polk of Turner, Ore., and Bonnie Waite, of White City, Ore.; grandchildren, Sean Polk and Nekole Baurer; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eston Hubbard; grandson, Curtis Harper; and her brother, Jack Litster, of Salem.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem, Ore.
