Genevieve Jeanne Plante passed away peacefully November 28, 2017 in West Linn, Oregon in the company of her loving family. She was born March 11, 1926 in France, to Lt. Col. Victor Sanche and Anne Marie (Collot) Sanche.
Genevieve was the widow of WWII Army veteran Elphege J. Plante. She was a longtime resident of Manville, Rhode Island and Medford, Ore. She was retired from Brown University, where she was personal chef to three former university presidents. She enjoyed caring for her family, gardening, and raising sheep and goats.
She is survived by her five children, Leo Plante (Veronica), Denise Slaven (David), Monique Jevne (John), Paulette Carter (Robert), and Dr. Evelyn Henry (Jay); and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henri Sanche; sister, Denise Pienne; and granddaughter, Bambie Plante Brown.
A celebration of her life is planned in the spring of 2018 in Rhode Island. Funeral arrangements are private.
