Frank Leonardo Jr.

October 29, 1929 - May 11, 2018

Frank Leonardo, 88, of Eagle Point, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a kind and generous man, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Frank was born October 29, 1929 in Freshwater, California to Frank and Emelia Leonardo. He married the love of his life, Annie White, August 16, 1952 in Hopeton, Calif. Shortly after their marriage, Frank was drafted into the Army and served in Korea. After his time in the military, they lived in Snelling, Calif. before moving their growing family to Eagle Point in 1970, where they owned a dairy.

Frank loved being a dairy farmer, or "Cow Sapper," as he called it. His sense of humor, enormous smile and infectious laugh were the first things a stranger would notice; soon after, they would realize they were no longer a stranger. While he loved to garden and make wine, first and foremost his hobby was people. ALL people. He loved people, and he loved to feed people. His hospitality was legendary. Frank was the epitome of the term "family man." Devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was also deeply connected to his extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. His kindness, friendship, and generosity touched countless lives, and his passing leaves a huge void in his large family and the community he loved.

Frank is survived by his wife, Annie; his children, Frank of Eugene, Ore., Gary (Jane), Harold (Theresa), Moose (Cindy), Ron (Kris), Sherri, and Terri (Dean), all of Eagle Point, an adopted daughter, Judy Custine of Colorado; a brother, John Leonardo of Turlock, Calif.; two step-siblings, Joe Gomes of Turlock, Calif. and Annie Leonardo of Merced, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters.

Services will be held May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, OR. A celebration of life will follow at the Elks Picnic Ground, 10539 Agate Rd., Eagle Point, OR.
