Edna F. Meadows

Edna F. Meadows of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2008, after suffering a stroke. Edna was born July 13, 1916 in Ink, Mo., to Clarence C. and Martha J. Wallace. The family moved to Crescent City, Calif., and she grew up there. She enjoyed many activities and different

careers throughout her life and always had a "project" going on. She worked in the shipyards in Eureka during World War II, owned a childrens' clothing store in partnership with her sister, Ruth, in Eureka. She later moved back to Crescent City and taught Kindergarten at Pine Grove School for many years after receiving her degree from Humboldt State and Southern Oregon colleges. Some years after the death of her first husband she married E.K. Meadows and they moved to the Rogue Valley after he sold his business in Crescent City. Once they settled in Jacksonville they began to buy and

renovate historical homes and that became her favorite pastime, along with working in her yard, playing the fiddle and collecting antique furniture and dolls.

Edna is survived by daughters, Lorna R. DeCamp of Medford and Marilyn Wilson and son-in-law, Don Wilson, of

Jacksonville; two grandsons, Brent Wilson (Gina) of Baggs, Wyo., and Blaine Wilson (Donna) of Medford; great-granddaughter, Callie of Baggs, Wyo; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Jesse of Medford; step-sons, Jim Meadows of Reno, Nev., and Jerry Meadows (Patti) of Sparks, Nev.; two step-grandchildren, Tad of Sparks, Nev., and Ciara of Maryland; sister, Ruby Jeanne McNamara of Orick, Calif.; brother,

Clarence C. Wallace of Dallas, Ore.; and many beloved

nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, E.K. Meadows, and her first husband, Horace Swiney; father, Clarence

Wallace; mother, Martha Wallace; sisters, Willia Bosch, Ruth Bosch, Pauline Drake, Lenna LaRoe; and special friend for many years, Phil Veling.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Conger~Morris in

Medford and Wier's Mortuary in Crescent City. Interment will be Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the I.O.O.F.

Cemetery in Crescent City followed by a memorial service at the Church of Christ with Chris Tripp officiating. A second memorial will be held at the Historic Presbyterian Church on E. California St. in Jacksonville on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the M.S. Society or the Friends of the Jacksonville Library.
