Donald L. Osborne passed away July 22, 2012, at his home. He was born August 9, 1930, in Atlanta, Ill. On July 10, 1953, he married Joyce Young in Medford, Ore.
Don served in the U.S. Army with the military police. He worked for the city of Central Point, Ore., and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the First Church of God, 2000 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, Ore. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His love of the outdoors, the woods, and mountains had a calming effect. Making others laugh with a good joke was his passion.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Medford, Ore.; son, Ron Osborne; daughter, Susan Osborne; grandson, Joshua Osborne, of Central Point, Ore.; sisters, Thelma Powell, of Medford, Ore., and Verna McDonnell, of Talent, Ore.; and brother, Sylvester Osborne, of Central Point, Ore. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Delbert and Dale Osborne; and his sister, Flora Clark.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 27, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, with Pastor John Wiuff officiating. A short grave side service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Perl.
