Donald D. Hoover

Don's Dash

Donald D. Hoover, of Medford, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007. Mr. Hoover departed at his home with his loving wife, Janet, by his side.

Mr. Hoover was born May 15, 1940, in Norfolk, Neb., to Martha Mary and Eldon Delane Hoover. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and then served in the Army for several years. After his service to our country, he married Janet Rae Sibley in 1962, in Wahoo, Neb. The family moved to Minnesota where he attended Detroit Lakes Technical Institute, and earned top honors in welding certification. Their 47 year marriage brought them to the Rogue Valley in 1975, where Don worked as a Metal Fabricator, and owner of Hoover Metal Fabrication, and Big Foot Manufacturing. Mr. Hoover was an instructor at Rogue Community College. He helped build many prominent structures here in the Rogue Valley, until retiring due to an accident. Mr. Hoover lived at home with his wife, Janet. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with his grandchildren and riding sand rails at the dunes with his family and friends, Bruce and Nadine Powell.

He joyfully entered heaven where he was met by his daughter, Heather Jayne; father, Eldon; in-laws, Elijah and Lenora Sibley; and other family members and friends.

Waiting to join him are his wife, Janet; six children, Robin Danielson, of Menahga, Minn., Rick Wipf and Cathy Franklin, of Medford, Shelly Clement and Donald "Dennis" Hoover, of Eagle Point, and Steven P.M. Hoover, of Central Point; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-greatgrandchildren, his mother, Martha, of Lincoln, Neb.; and brother, Neil Hoover, of Lincoln, Neb.

Services will be held at the Medford Neighborhood Church, 1819 West Stewart Ave., Medford, on January 3, 2008, at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Medford Neighborhood Church in his name. Please designate men in ministry. "What did you do with your dash?"
