Donald B. Fraughton, 70, of rural Eagle Point, Oregon, passed away in the early evening hours of July 14, 2018, after a hard-fought battle with renal cancer. He was born in American Fork, Utah August 9, 1947, to Keith and Doris (Boren) Fraughton.
Don married Judy Kime February 14, 1992, in Medford, Ore. He was a respiratory therapist for 30 years and worked at both Providence and Asante hospitals in Southern Oregon. Don was an avid fisherman, loved traveling with his wife, and enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons Craig Fraughton and Rikki Fraughton (Amy), of Eagle Point, Ore.; four step-children, Troy J. Pomeroy (Christy), Chad W. Pomeroy (Tonya), Misty Pomeroy-Herzog (Mike Herzog), and Jarod D. Pomeroy (Bobbie), of Southern Oregon; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Smith of Provo, Utah; sisters, Ruth Ann Smith of Evanston, Wyoming, April Smith of American Fork, Utah, and Yvonne Smith-Lamson (Steve Lamson) of Salem, Utah. Don was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Smith.
Don has requested there be no service but rather a glass of your favorite beverage might be lifted in a toast to a life well lived. Memorial donations in Don's name may be made to Providence Hospice, P.O. Box 4548, Medford, Ore., 97501. Perl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
