Don Harper Jordan

Don Jordan of Talent, Ore. passed away June 19, 2007.

He was born in Spokane, Wash. on August 30, 1936 to Jessie Cran and Alvin Jordan. He spent his school years in Fircrest and Tacoma, Washington graduating from Lincoln High School in 1954. He graduated with a logging engineering degree from the University of Washington in 1958. On June 21, 1958 he married Judy King.

He worked for several timber companies before going to work for Weyerhaeuser. In his 35 years there, he designed logging roads and did environmental engineering. He loved the woods. From age 40 to 55, he and his wife enjoyed travels abroad and interesting experiences like Holden Village in the Washington Cascades. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 2000 where he was active playing golf and participating in the Rogue Valley Orchid Society, SMART Reading program and the Friends of the Talent Library.

Don is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Judy; children, Audrey (Norm) Zemke, David (Susan) Jordan and Ann (Mark) Wilson; and grandchildren, Becca Ruley, Charles (Rionna) Ruley and Tim Zemke. He is preceded in death by granddaughter, Jessica Zemke.

A memorial service celebrating Don's life will take place Monday June 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Ashland.
