Dennis Gene Tollefson

Dennis Gene Tollefson

Dennis Gene Tollefson, age 69, passed away quietly at his home, on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in Medford.

Dennis was born September 8, 1938 in a log cabin in

Livelong, Saskatchewan, Canada to Freeman and Viola

Tollefson. He attended several grade schools in Oregon, but graduated from Del Norte High School in Crescent City,

Calif., in 1956.

Dennis met his lifelong friend and companion, Barbara "Diane" Lloyd, and they were married in June, 1960 in

Longview, Wash. They lived in Medford for a few years, moved to Salem, Ore., for ten months, working for Western Farmers. In 1966 he and Diane returned to Medford, where his friend, Clancy and he started the business known as

Medford Plating, Inc. Clancy managed the Medford area and Dennis had his weekly route taking him to Eugene, Klamath Falls, and Crescent City, Calif. He was so dependable that if he was half an hour late, customers would call to make sure everything was alright. He was very proud of the fact he drove over one million accident-free miles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Viola Tollefson.

Dennis leaves behind his wife, Diane, of 47 years; his

brother, Terrance F. Tollefson and wife, Judy of Roseburg, Ore.; his children, Kristin Anne Shadowlight and her

husband, Simon of Golden, Colo., Kevin Gene Tollefson and his wife, Carol of Medford, and Melissa Anne McGee of

Wylie, Texas and her husband, Mike; six grandchildren,

Zachary Gene, Sarah Anne, Elias Gene, Madison Anne, Justin Michael-Martin and Garrett Nicholas; two nephews, David Tollefson of Portland, Ore., and Douglas Tollefson of

Roseburg, Ore. He was known to all of them as "Den Den," "Ace," "Pops," and Grandpa.

He was an avid sports fan. Football and NASCAR were very much a part of his life. He loved working in his "hobby room" building minature doll houses, model boats,

windmills, and was working on a train village. Dennis was a long-time member of the Elks, Moose, and Eagles Lodges.

Dennis was an extremely proud, loyal and loving person. His house was always open to anyone and his house was

considered the "Tollefson's Bed and Breakfast."

He had a lot of friends and will be greatly missed, but in our hearts we know he is in a better place. He will be in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Conger~Morris, Medford Chapel, 715 W. Main St., with Pastor Grant Williams officiating. Graveside service to follow immediately afterwards at Hillcrest

Memorial Park & Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also at
