Debra Marie Marin

September 12, 1952 - April 20, 2018

Debra Marie Marin passed away April 20, 2018 at her home in Medford. She was born September 12, 1952 in Salem, Oregon to Owen and Elsie Klug. "Debbie" graduated from Medford High School in 1970. In 1971, she married John Marin, with whom she had a daughter, Gloria. They settled in the Rogue Valley. Debbie worked in the Marin Family Cafés for 16 years. She then became the owner of the last café in Talent for nine years. Debbie, Barbara, and Bobbie Jean were the soul of this family business. Debbie loved to welcome and please people.

In 1990, Debbie moved to Hilt, California, and went to work for the Trinca family at the State Line Service in 1992. Debbie was diagnosed with cancer in 1991. In 1995, she went to work for Fruit Growers Supply Company in Hilt as their receptionist in the office. One of the foresters said Debbie "never had an agenda, she just wanted to help us." Cancer returned in 1995, and Deb had to retire.

Left to remember her loving kindness and forgiving spirit are her husband, John; daughter, Gloria; grandson, Tyler; mother-in-law, Barbara; and brothers, Kirk and Richard. She adored her nephews, Scott, Trent, Keith, Hunter, and Huston.

Debbie loved being in her yard in Hilt enjoying her fish, flowers, trees, and wildlife. She would often say, "It is so wild, it gives me peace."

Those that knew Debbie knew that she was kind and giving to all folks and loved to feed people. Her cafés were fun!

After so many years of fighting cancer and enduring treatments, Debbie still had her sense of humor, as witnessed by her doctors, nurses, and family in her last hospital stay.

Debbie was preceded in death by her nephew, Mark; father, Owen; mother, Elsie; sister, Gloria; father-in-law, Marchino; and stepson, Scott.

A gathering of love, peace, and forgiveness shall be held May 19, 2018. From noon to 12:45, family and friends will remember Debbie with fun conversation and photo viewing. Service is at 1:00 p.m. Afterwards, we will serve another meal.

In lieu of flowers, please support Firehouse Five Foundation in Talent (P.O. Box 1401, Talent, OR 97540) or Rescue Ranch (P.O. Box 1192, Yreka, CA 96097.)
