Connie Lycett of Yreka, passed away at her home after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer on May 17, 2007.
Connie was born in July of 1943 in Prineville, Ore. Her family eventually moved to Prospect, Ore., where Connie finished school and married her high school sweetheart, George Lycett on July 15, 1960. They moved to Siskiyou County in 1967 and have resided in Yreka since 1970.
For 33 years, Connie worked in the Yreka elementary schools as a teacher's aide and eventually as a library aide. For her, being in the Library was more like a vacation than a job, as she totally loved children and reading.
Connie was a member of the Life Fellowship Foursquare Church of Yreka and was totally committed to and dearly loved her Lord and Savior.
Her hobbies included knitting, painting, crocheting and sewing for family and friends. She also loved fishing and camping trips on the coast.
Connie is survived by her biggest fan and husband, George of Yreka, Calif.; son, Ronald and wife, Kenda Lycett of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Carla and husband, Vaughn Parks of Reno, Nev.; brothers, David and wife, Janet Hall of Medford, Ore., Irvin and wife, Gail Hall of Hermiston, Ore., as well as seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends whom she loved dearly. Connie was predeceased by her parents, William J. and Lucille Hall.
She was dearly loved by her family and everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words.
At her request there will be no services.
