Clifton D. Belknap, 69, died of cancer at Rogue Valley Medical Center on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Clif was born, July 14, 1941, in Alameda, Calif., to William and Nova Belknap. Clif attended Sir Frances Drake high school in San Anselmo, Calif., and graduated in 1956.
On November 2, 1975, Clif married Judy Fenton Gold, and the couple lived in San Geronimo, Calif. He had a son, Aaron, from a previous marriage. When Clif and Judy's daughter, Stephanie, was born they moved to Glendale, Ore., where they had another son, Bill.
Clif worked for P.G. & E. for 12 years in San Rafael, Calif., before starting his own electrical store in San Anselmo, Calif. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Glendale, Ore., where he and his family lived for ten years. The family then moved to Shady Cove, Ore., in July 1988. With fishing being one of his greatest passions, Clif left behind many lifelong friends that will never forget what an amazing man he was.
Clifton is preceded in death by brother, Mike Belknap; father, William Belknap; mother, Nova Fuqua; aunt and uncle, Elsie and Keith Ward; and cousin, Wally Ward. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy; sons, Aaron and Bill; daughter, Stephanie; and his beloved dog, Mai Tai.
Memorial services will be held at Rivers Edge Park in Trail, Ore., on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Clif's passing.
