Clarence Virgil Childers

Clarence Virgil Childers passed away at his home on March 14, 2011. No service is planned at this time.

He was born in Ashland, Ore., on January 18, 1918. He served in the Army National Guard, and was deployed with the Ashland unit in World War II. Retired United States Army. After the war, he worked for Pacific Power & Light for 25 years. He loved traveling with his wife Donna. They took adventures to Alaska, Hawaii, and every year they traveled to Eastern Oregon to hunt Elk. He was a member of the Eagles, and in his free time he loved fishing, hunting and playing Texas Hold 'Em.

Clarence will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Donna Mattison; his brother, Raymond Childers; his children, Tom Childers & Margaret Koblein; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Tessman; brother, Chuck Childers; and sister, Ester Florey.
