Cecil E. Halstead

Cecil Halstead passed away June 18,2012, after a valiant life surrounded by his loving family.

Cecil graduated from the University of Nebraska, and, November 2, 1946, in Lincoln, Neb., married the love of his life, Bernice Wade. They were married for 57 years before her death in 2003.

He served in the Army during World War II, serving in Germany, France, and England. Cecil was the original owner and operator of Witham's Restaurant, Denny's, Bards Inn, and a whole host of local valley restaurants.

In his younger days he was an active member in the Medford Rotary Club and loved dancing at his Elks club with Bernice.

Cecil Halstead was a lifelong adventurer and loved fishing, boating, woodworking, and beating everyone he played in ping-pong. He loved flying his small airplane all around the west coast visiting friends and family.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl (Grant), Marla (Steve), and Lorna (Matt); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren who will all greatly miss him.
