Beatrice M. Fox passed away peacefully at age 88, on August 6, 2011, surrounded by her family, at her home in El Paso, Texas. She was born May 4, 1923, in Menominee, Mich. Bea was the youngest of 12 children.
After graduating high school, she moved to Milwaukee, Wis., to work as a secretary. While there, she met her future husband, George Jacob Fox, who was serving in the U.S. Navy. They married in 1946, and during George's military career, lived in numerous places, including Florida, Germany, Oklahoma, and Texas. They enjoyed a long and loving marriage until George's death in 1995.
A wife, mother, homemaker, and talented seamstress, Bea was loved by all who knew her, and always had a kind word for anyone she met. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Wosika (husband, Leon Wosika), of Anthony, N.M.; her son, Richard Fox (wife, Mimi Fox), of Taos, N.M.; and her grandson, Jed Fox, of Mt. Shasta, Calif. We will mourn her passing and cherish her memory.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude go to all the wonderful people who assisted her in her last years: the entire staff at the Regency of El Paso Assisted Living Center, Homeinstead, Sandy Taylor, Jayne Keatts, and Annette Golucke. Special thanks go to her best friends, Laverne Ford and Julia Leland, with whom she went on many shopping trips and shared many "Happy Hours."
A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, 805 Montana St., El Paso, Texas.
As a devoted animal lover, she would appreciate donations sent to any local Humane Society or animal rescue group, in lieu of flowers.
