Arthur Wasser, 92, died at his home in Ashland, Ore., on March 17, 2009, from complications of his age. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and his wife, Margaret. He leaves a daughter, Karen Wasser; his sister-in-law, Juanita Wasser; two nephews, David and Al, and their families.
Mr. Wasser was a self-made man, spending most of his life in the furniture and interior design business with his wife, Margaret, whom he married in 1936. They traveled the world seeking treasures for their various stores and thoroughly enjoyed the process.
Mr. Wasser was a former director of the Kelso, Washington Chamber of Commerce; board member of Habitat for Humanity; member of the Board of Directors of the Schneider Museum of Art; and an original board member of the Craterian Theatre in Medford.
At his request there will be no services or ceremonies. Donations may be made to the Schneider Museum of Art, Ashland, Ore.; the Cowlitz County Historical Society Museum, Kelso, Wash.; or Habitat for Humanity, Ashland, Ore.
