Al was born in Kennett, Mo. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. His ship was bombed but he survived to tell the tale! He later moved to San Francisco, Calif., where he met Rosemary, his wife of 52 years. They relocated to Fresno where Al worked as a printer for the Fresno Bee, played competitive tennis, enjoyed hunting, and raised their four children. Al retired to Ashland, Ore., and later to Wayne, Pa., to be near family. He is remembered fondly, for his outgoing personality and story-telling. He is survived by his wife, four children, and seven grandchildren.
