Subway armed robber at large after manhunt Saturday night

Medford police are on the lookout for a man in his 20s or 30s who robbed a Subway restaurant at gunpoint at 65 Rossanley Drive just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

The man fled on foot, and the Jackson County Sheriff's K9 unit responded to assist with the search, but the man couldn't be found.

According to Medford police, the man brandished a pistol while demanding money.

After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he fled on foot, police say.

Several officers were in the area and established a perimeter around the crime scene.

The case is being investigated by Medford police evidence technicians.

The Subway has cameras that got a good photo of the suspect. Medford police haven't released a photo of the man yet.

The Subway, located in the Northgate Marketplace near Trader Joe's, closes at 10 p.m.

Even though the Rossanley Subway hasn't been robbed previously, a Subway at 1250 Crater Lake Avenue was robbed on March 21, 2016.

Medford police eventually arrested Alexander Mathew White, 23, after he was identified as a suspect in a robbery at the Brookings Subway.

A Grants Pass man arrested Monday night on charges he robbed a Brookings Subway restaurant is believed to have committed the same crime at a Medford Subway earlier that day, according to police.

White was also a suspect in two armed robberies in Grants Pass involving a handgun — at a Subway on March 8 and at a Papa Murphy’s on March 17, the release said.
