Sanctuary One launches volunteer week

Sanctuary One is hoping to attract volunteers to its 55-acre animal sanctuary to help complete odd jobs.

It will host volunteer work parties from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday through Saturday, April 23-29, in conjunction with National Volunteer Week.

Sanctuary officials encourage volunteer teams to join them for a day, two days or even the whole week to help them tackle projects on the farm. Lunch will be served on-site each day. The care farm is located at 13195 Upper Applegate Road, outside Ruch.

In helping Sanctuary One, volunteers not only help rescued animals; they also help a multitude of other nonprofits that Sanctuary One serves, including veterans' groups and children advocacy groups, according to Sanctuary One's website.
