'Henry IV, Part One'

Prince Hal's father, Henry IV, wants his son to rule the realm, but young Hal would rather study the bottom of a beer stein in a seedy tavern, among the company of Falstaff and his carousing friends. But when a young rival threatens, it's time for Hal to step up and take on the family troubles. Lileana Blain-Cruz directs. The show runs through Oct. 28 in the Thomas Theatre. 'Don Pasquale'

Brava! Opera will present Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti's 1843 comic opera at 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at the Mountain Avenue Theatre on the Ashland High School campus, 201 S. Mountain Ave. Directed by Willene Gunn and conducted by Martin Majkut, this fully staged opera will be performed in English. Ashland Children's Theatre, directed by Eve Smyth, will act out stories of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, pirates and a fairy ball at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 18, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at The Dance Space, 280 E. Jay Owenhouse

Illusionist and escape artist Jay Owenhouse will perform at 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford.
