Felony arrests

Assault — Sean Robert Schaeffer, 44, of the 2400 block of Salyer Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Schaeffer Tuesday on felony charges of fourth-degree assault and coercion, and misdemeanor charges of interfering with someone making a police report, interfering with police, resisting arrest and harassment. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday on $100,000 bail.

Vehicle Theft — Scott Anthony Chapman, 48, no known address. Central Point police arrested Chapman Tuesday on felony charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail Tuesday and released Wednesday because of overcrowding.

Drugs — Jason Glenn Simcox, 39, of the 1700 block of Prune Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Simcox Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail Tuesday and released Wednesday because of overcrowding.

Elude — Jose Manuel Macias, 27, no known address. Central Point police and the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Macias Wednesday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving, misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on prior charges of attempted first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and for violating his parole on a prior first-degree burglary conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.

Drugs — Kevin Tyler Lowry, 26, of the 100 block of Highland Drive, Medford. On Wednesday, Lowry made his initial court appearance on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin, a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended and on out-of-county warrants for charges of delivering heroin, possessing heroin and possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on his own recognizance.

Crime reports

Theft — 2200 block of Greenbrook Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included manual focus and DSLR cameras, lenses and cases. The loss was valued at $3,152.

Vandalism — 400 block of South Grape Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle at 7:06 a.m. Wednesday. Sugar was reportedly placed in the vehicle’s gas tank and the tires were reported damaged. The damage to the vehicle was valued at $950.
