Voter registration deadline for the Jan. 23, 2018, special election is Tuesday, Jan. 2, for people registering to vote in Oregon for the first time.
If you are currently registered to vote in the state of Oregon, but have moved, changed your mailing address or name, you will also need to update your registration. Ballots cannot be forwarded.
Voter registration and updates can be completed online at www.oregonvotes.gov. You can also update your voter registration automatically at Driver and Motor Vehicle Services if you initiate updates on your Oregon-issued driver’s license or I.D. card.
If you wish to register in person or have questions regarding the status of your voter registration, call the Elections office at 541-774-6148, or visit 1101 W. Main St., Suite 201, Medford 97501.
Voters will decide on Ballot Measure 101, which would preserve Oregon’s expansion of health insurance coverage by taxing hospitals and insurance plans. Insurance companies could raise premiums by up to 1.5 percent to help cover the taxes.
