Woman attempts to rob hotel

Medford police are searching for a woman who used a weapon in an attempted robbery of the Windmill Inn on Biddle Road in Medford late Thursday.

An employee reported that the woman walked into the front desk area of the hotel at 11:16 p.m., pointed the handgun at the clerk and told her to "put all the money on the counter." When the clerk said she had no access to money, the woman left.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the woman, described as a white adult, 5-foot-1 to 5-foot-3, weighing 100 to 120 pounds. She had brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a white knit cap, a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and black baggy pants. She had the bottom half of her face covered with what appeared to be a yellow plastic bag, police say.
