Vinyl Club fined by OLCC

ASHLAND — A popular dance club was one of 12 bars served with a fine and/or suspension of its liquor license during a statewide blitz to curb alcohol sales to minors.

The Vinyl Club, 130 Will Dodge Way, was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,485 or serve a nine-day suspension for failing to verify the age of a minor before allowing him to buy or be served an alcoholic beverage when he reasonably appeared to be under 26 years of age, according to an Oregon Liquor Control Commission press release.

The Vinyl Club was fined in 2005 for selling liquor to a minor during an OLCC sting. The club declined to serve an OLCC volunteer posing as a minor the following year.
