Suspect sought in Flamingo's robbery

Police are seeking a man accused of pulling a gun and robbing a Medford video lottery deli Monday night.

At about 9:40 p.m. Monday, a man wearing a mask entered Flamingo’s, in the 2000 block of Roberts Road, and demanded that a woman behind the counter fill his backpack with cash.

The employee, who had pressed a panic button as the robber arrived, gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. Video surveillance showed that the man ran eastbound after leaving the deli.

Police arrived within minutes but were unable to find the robber, described as a white man in his 40s or 50s, about 5-foot-10, with red or blond shoulder-length hair.

The robber wore a light-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark tennis shoes with white soles and a baseball cap light-colored in the front and dark in the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Medford police at 541-774-2230 and reference case number 18-9667.
